Brooker Memorial is excited to introduce a new opportunity in collaboration with the Johnson O’Connor Research Foundation, designed especially for Torrington High School students completing their sophomore or junior year.
The Pathway to Success program offers students a unique chance to uncover career paths that align with their natural abilities. Through a full-day aptitude assessment provided by the Johnson O’Connor facility in Boston, MA, students can explore career options that resonate with how they naturally think and work.
The Johnson O’Connor Research Foundation, a trusted non-profit, has helped countless individuals discover their true potential and pursue careers that feel meaningful and fulfilling. We’re proud to partner with them to offer this experience to our community’s youth.
Each year, Brooker Memorial selects 15 students for both the Spring and Fall sessions to travel to Boston for an immersive, day-long series of aptitude tests.
Our committee will review applications throughout January, and selected students will be notified by email with additional details.
Application Deadline: TBD
Brooker Memorial is committed to fully covering the $1,200 cost of testing and transportation for each student. In return, we ask that participants meet the following expectations:
The day will begin with students departing from the high school at approximately 6:45 AM and arriving in Boston by 10 AM. Johnson O’Connor team members will guide each student through a variety of assessments designed to reveal their innate talents.
After a morning of testing, students will break for lunch (please bring your own packed lunch; light snacks and refreshments will be provided). Following the afternoon session, the group will head back around 5:00 PM, stopping for a quick dinner before returning to the high school by approximately 9:00 PM.
